Our Pitch
For the final task, after much consideration, we decided on two pitches. The first pitch would be of a guy that lives with his best friend. He and his friend are very close, they do everything together, however, his friend isn't actually real and it is only a hallucination. For our second pitch, we decided to go with a similar idea. This story follows a person who is diagnosed with dementia and it follows the stages of dementia where the person slowly forgets everything they've ever known until not one memory is left and they are not able to take care of themself.
The first pitch, of the guy who has a fake friend that is only just a hallucination, this pitch has a very straightforward plot that leaves little room for confusion. It has no special effects so production would be a lot easier. However, on the flip side, there are several cons to this pitch as well. This pitch requires good acting to sell the film. It would also require a lot of different filming spots as the story needs to develop a relationship between the two friends.
There are many pros and cons that could occur while producing our second pitch. This pitch has many reasons that could contribute to its production for our final task, such as the ease of production. The other pitch that we chose would be difficult to make, as there would most likely be quite a few special effects that would go into producing it. This pitch’s idea would be much easier to convey, compared to the difficulties we would face in our second pitch. This idea is not very original, and it feels as though it has been done before, even though we haven’t seen anyone else execute this idea.
After careful reflection, we decided on the second pitch, This is because its plot is vaguer so it allows for more flexibility, it requires less acting because it isn't reliant on one main character as opposed to two, and it was more of an original idea.
