  Horror is a genre that seeks to create a sense of panic, fear, alarm, and dread within its audience. These films often rely on the portrayal of people’s fears and nightmares. Usually centering upon the arrival or occurrence of an evil person, force, or event, they incorporate large amounts of gore within the plot. Common Camera Angles, Movements, and Shots: High angles are a must given that it makes a victim seem powerless and vulnerable by being looked down upon. Close-ups are used to capture strong emotions on characters’ faces such as fear or sadness A tilt is a cornerstone of horror films as it adds dramatic tension to shots that increase a feeling of fear and mystery. POV shots are additionally an immense part of horror films because it shows what the character is feeling and creates combined with other techniques can induce an altered mental state image for the audience.   Some common camera angles and movements that are common in romance movies are high angles, low angles, close- up and extreme close-up. Tracking shot, long shot, medium close up, medium close-up and tilt are also common. Some common sounds that romance movies use are diegetic sound and non-diegetic sound. Dialogue, and ambient sounds are also common.  Some common editing techniques that romance movies use are eye-line match, and shot/reverse shot. Common costumes are regular cloths that people wear every day. Romance movies also use formal dresses, if the actor/characters are going to a ball. They also use it it there are princess romance movies. Common lighting key lighting, back lighting, soft lighting, and motivation lighting. They also use bright lightings. Common acting is that all actors act casually, in love with a person, sad and other emotions.   Pitch 1: A kid with a dream, eager to pursue his passion! But with many obstacles in-front of him, will he be able to? Pitch 2: In a time where people are glued to their screens all the time, two young gentlemen men seek out a new form of entertainment. Join these two boys as they explore life outside of a screen and witness a whole new experience. Discussion of pitch 1: So we really like this idea but there are several problems. We are not sure on what the kids dream or passion should be. That is the only dilemma we’ve ran into, once we get that coming up with obstacles won’t be hard. This is a good idea but if we don’t come up with a passion for the kid to pursue then it won’t work out. I had many options on how many people I wanted in a group and I was picked to be in a group of 3 along with Brayden Parke, Sarah, and Elton. It is worth telling you that this is my final project and we will be giving it our all. I had many choices for who I would group up with. My original choice was to group up with a different friend but he was already in a group of 4, which seemed like too much to handle. Hello, This is my introduction blog for the final task of my 2023-2024 Media Studies A-Level Final Task. I have grown a lot since my AS level days and have grown more attached to media and filmmaking. I have a camera now and have experience intaking pictures with it. I still enjoy watching football. I am on my High School's tennis team. I also collect Sports Cards. I have become more invested in rollerblading and learning to play hockey. I have been playing basketball too!
