Production Blog: Continuing Filming

Image
Greetings all and welcome back to my blog! On my previous blogs, On the previous blogs, I explained the annoying process of finding an optimal time to film with my groupmates. Fortunately, we were all able to settle on a date and we begun filming the beginning of our final task in accordance to our storyboard. We all had made a lot of progress in filming the opening, contextual scenes which had revealed the characters. In the time that we had filmed, we had completed the establishing scene, and had introduced both main characters. We had gotten to the part where Thomas was going to drop off his imaginary friend and by that time, it had began getting late. We decided to call it a day and settle with filming tomorrow.  It is now, the next day. My group and I all banded together to try to complete as much of the filming as possible. We were now finishing up the 7th scene in our storyboard. This is when our main character begins driving home from work. I decided to do this scene with my

Production Blog: Actually beginning to film

Hello all and welcome back to the blog. I have been having very extreme trouble filming with my group . In my previous blogs, I detailed my multiple attempts to film. It was very difficult to film due to a number of reasons. One reason we were not able to film was because we had very filled schedules for the time, I wanted to film so badly but my group was very busy.  Anyway, after all this chaos, I finally decided on a date. This date was about 2 weeks ago, On march the 15th. Very unfortunately, there was a flood warning exactly on the area and date that we planned. I for one was extraordinarily angry as the trouble that had come leading up to this date was not worth it. Anyway, that explains the title for this blog. We were going to film last time, but since we couldn't, we decided to do it on Sunday, March 26th. I reaffirmed that everyone was going to be 100% sure that they could film on this day. Fortunately, there were no weather-related events and I arrived and

Production Blog: Beginning to film

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! Last time on my blog, I had discussed my groups' plans on when to film . Well, Amidst the discussion, Lucas had decided on our filming date. It was going to be March 15th . However, it wasn't optimal for all of us. I wasn't sure if I could do the 15th because I was planning on going to Georgia for Spring Break and I might have to pack that day . It looked like I wasn't going to be able to film that day. I told Lucas this but Lucas insisted that it was the perfect day to film. The date might have been able to work for everyone else, but not for me. On the day of the 15th, nobody was available to film . Weather made bad traffic in Angel's area, and Thomas could not go because his parents work on Wednesdays. Lucas was the only group member that could film that day. We all talked over it and decided that we shouldn't film so close to spring break. We all agreed that our schedules would be busy during spring break and

Production Blog: Finding a time to film

Greetings everyone and welcome back to my blog. The final big task on my 'list' for my pre-filming tasks is to find an optimal time for everyone to meet up and begin in-person production. I was talking with my group for what felt like a very long time. We discussed many different dates. It should be noted that this discussion was about a week ago. Anyway, so we were discussing. The first date we talked about was on March, Friday the third to begin filming. However, I unfortunately had to break this idea as I realized I had an excessive amount of homework that I would need to do on that day. The group was not very happy about it. This is because that date was very perfect for everyone else. But we just moved on and talked about another date. This time, we were certain as we had asked everyone before we planned it. We were going to begin on some filming on March, Saturday the 11th. I thought this was a perfect time as it was a Saturday and nobody would really have to be doing

Production Blog: Gathering materials and such

Image
This past weekend, we had began gathering materials and props for the Final Task. To gather materials, we had to consider what might be relative to the story. So, since we know that the story involves a mental dilemma, we had decided to get some things that may be able to signify this. Whilst brainstorming, Lucas had immediately thought of acquiring a keychain to signify the presence of the imaginary friend. I thought this was a good idea because we could use this in symbolism of the imaginary friend even after it is revealed that he is non-exisitant.  I immediately suggested to bring a keychain as it would be a perfect 'small item' for our imaginary friend. I wanted a 'small item' with great significance as it would be a perfect spot to include a degree of literature. Another reason I decided to suggest this is because it would clarify that the best friend was imaginary in case there was confusion from the audience. Furthermore, I needed to help my group pinpoint an ex

Production Blog: Creating the script and storyboard

Image
This past week we had began making the storyboard. Throughout the course of working on the Final Task, we had the hardest time working on the script and storyboard. This was the hardest in particular because we had a hard time figuring out the roles of everyone in the cast. Everyone wanted to be the main character. To decide this, we decided to spin a wheel with each of our names on it. The winner of the main character's job was Thomas. So, afterward, we all kind of just chose what character we wanted since we each wanted to be different characters as our second choice. So, we decided that Thomas was going to be the main character, I was going to be the Friend, Angel was the dispatcher, and Lucas was the Receptionist. But, with this, a couple problems arose. Lucas and Angel were not very happy with the little screen time that they were given. So, to fix this, they would also be playing the role of any background characters, or side characters. They were happy with the compromise.

In page 1, Our main character, Thomas wakes up and greets his friend at a table. His friend is eating cereal. They see the clock and leave for work. Thomas drops off his friend and then he goes to work. On page 2, Thomas begins heading home from work. He notices his friend isnt there to be picked up but heads home without thinking much of it and goes home thinking he might be doing something. He wakes up to his friend not being at home and tries to report him as missing before forgetting his name alltogether. He says he will call back and looks for documents until he finds a paper mentioning his friend. His first name is riley. In page 3, after knowing his friend's first name is Riley, he goes to his friends work and asks his receptionist if any "rileys" work there. The receptionist finds 1 riley. Riley Drew. Thomas walks out and finds a payphone where he can report his friend missing. However, after mentioning a "riley drew" the dispatcher notices that it doe
