Production Blog: Creating the script and storyboard

This past week we had began making the storyboard. Throughout the course of working on the Final Task, we had the hardest time working on the script and storyboard. This was the hardest in particular because we had a hard time figuring out the roles of everyone in the cast. Everyone wanted to be the main character. To decide this, we decided to spin a wheel with each of our names on it. The winner of the main character's job was Thomas. So, afterward, we all kind of just chose what character we wanted since we each wanted to be different characters as our second choice. So, we decided that Thomas was going to be the main character, I was going to be the Friend, Angel was the dispatcher, and Lucas was the Receptionist. But, with this, a couple problems arose. Lucas and Angel were not very happy with the little screen time that they were given. So, to fix this, they would also be playing the role of any background characters, or side characters. They were happy with the compromise. In the storyboard, I had made sure to create a storyline that at least made sense. At first, we had the idea of making the main character see a therapist but scrapped it pretty quickly after noticing that it was fairly boring. So, we went with the idea of a guy who unknowingly suffers from schizophrenia until one day, his non-existent friend goes missing. The main character forgets the identity of his friend, until realizing that his friend doesn't exist. We also are looking into adding in some representative props into the final project. Lucas had the idea of adding a keychain onto Thomas' person that might resemble his imaginary friend which adds more depth to the lore. I think this is a good idea and am very highly considering doing just that. We await Thomas and Angel's approval on this. Anyways, I like the progress we have made on the storyline for our Final Task and am very excited to get ready to film our final task. See you in the next Blog!
