Production Blog: Gathering materials and such

This past weekend, we had began gathering materials and props for the Final Task. To gather materials, we had to consider what might be relative to the story. So, since we know that the story involves a mental dilemma, we had decided to get some things that may be able to signify this. Whilst brainstorming, Lucas had immediately thought of acquiring a keychain to signify the presence of the imaginary friend. I thought this was a good idea because we could use this in symbolism of the imaginary friend even after it is revealed that he is non-exisitant. I immediately suggested to bring a keychain as it would be a perfect 'small item' for our imaginary friend. I wanted a 'small item' with great significance as it would be a perfect spot to include a degree of literature. Another reason I decided to suggest this is because it would clarify that the best friend was imaginary in case there was confusion from the audience. Furthermore, I needed to help my group pinpoint an exact location for our short film. I already knew the general area, but we decided to go to my groupmate's grandpa's house as he lived by the sea. I saw some pictures of it and it seemed to be a great choice. In fact, the choice was considered exceedingly valid by my peers and I. One more thing I had to think about was the costumes for our movie. However, this was quickly debunked as I knew that we would probably just have casual attire. Despite this, I suggested that the imaginary friend have a strange quirk about their outfit as a slight foreshadow to the impending twist. I also suggested to include a random shot of a schizophrenia book (an insert) in order to add further foreshadowing, which we quickly edited into our storyboard.
